The memorial is divided into two forms
a. It is sung at the grave of the deceased with a trisagion
b. A memorial service is sung in the church after the service.
According to this procedure, you usually perform Trisagion on
3 days, 9 days, 40 days, 3 months, 9 months, 1 year after the death of the deceased.
After the process of the memorial ceremony follows the distribution of the kollivas, the bun or the cake. The huts are called “syghoria” because whoever eats them wishes for the forgiveness of the deceased from God, hence the phrase “God forbid”.
